Hexed is a short film centered on a cursed sisterhood — intense, dramatic, and emotionally rich. The design goal was to create a haunting yet grounded promotional campaign that visually communicated the characters’ shared history and emotional ties.
The tone of the film guided the visual approach: dark, intimate, and a little eerie. I leaned into soft, moody lighting, rich shadows, and worn textures to hint at both supernatural tension and emotional depth.
To build believability in the sister dynamic, I combined and edited real photos of each actress to create fake childhood images — grainy, color-adjusted, and blended with old photo textures to sell the illusion.
I used muted purple tones with subtle highlights of red or gold to signify danger and legacy. The font choices lean gothic but modern, walking the line between fantasy and realism.
Each poster highlights a different sister with a unique backstory. The challenge was to make them visually distinct while clearly belonging to the same family and design system.
The central poster combines all four characters in a tense visual triangle, referencing both family hierarchy and occult symbolism. Each character’s gaze and body language hint at the plot’s emotional conflict.
